Lightweight products

The Clube is an injection moulded tube with integrated closure. Thanks to the elimination of the tube neck and shoulder up to 40% material is saved.

Less product parts by integration

The Integrated Spray products do not require a separate insert and consist of just one piece. This means no assembly and easy recycling.

Smart designs

A smart product design and the right material choices are the basis of an optimised processing, without wasting material and energy.

Stackable products

Good product stacking benefits to optimised logistics and handling. More products can be packed, stored and transported which results in a higher efficiency and energy savings.

Bio-based materials

Plasticum works together with research and knowledge institutes to develop and test new, green materials as an alternative to the ones currently used.

Green energy

Green energy can be extracted, generated and/or consumed without any significant impact to the environment. Plasticum switches over to this clean and sustainable type of energy.

Electric injection moulding machines

An electric injection moulding machine is clean and environmentally friendly. It is superior to the traditional hydraulic type. It is Plasticum’s policy to replace the hydraulic machines by electric ones, also as a part of HACCP/BRC.

Layer packing caps

Plasticum promotes layer packed products instead of tumble packed products. With this system more products can be packed in one box. The increased efficiency for handling, storage and transportation saves time and energy.

Ultrasonic welding

The ultrasonic welding technique is used for the assembly of the valves in our MaxiDose dispensing closures. This process uses ultrasound instead of other means of assembly. Ultrasonic welding has proven to be the most energy-efficient solution.

Waste reduction and recycling

Plasticum generates a minimum level of waste. The process water is cooled and reused in a closed loop and the redundant plastic is recycled by an external party.

Sustainable

Sustainability is an integral part of Plasticum’s strategy. We take measures to reduce our own carbon footprint and we help customers to reduce theirs by offering sustainable solutions. Our final goal is to be environmentally friendly throughout the whole value chain. The incremental goals include an 85% reduction of our own carbon footprint by 2015.
